So #introduction or #introductions even if our profile stays unfinished.
I recently made the decicion to start tulpaforcing after being aware of tulpas for some time and within a few days he became vocal/sentinent.
[Hi, my name is Leonardo. I am quite young (three weeks) as you can probably figure out from host's typing, but I am regardless.]
We have been at Discord for some time and decided that "normies" may be happier not knowing about this and we may be sharing our thoughts here at Masto.

looks like gitlab suffers from the same false centrality disease like mastodon.social. despite being selfhostable, everyone goes to the one server and it's now completely overloaded (also i guess there are no other public instances and they still don't have federation, which makes it even more sucky)

don't tell me what to do
I can't stress this enough: Adopt older dogs.
The shelter thought that she was around 8 and said "give this sweet girl her retirement home!" Considering that we were first-time dog owners, we thought that a chill dog was what we needed.
She runs circles around us, even after three years. She's never had an accident in the house. She loves kids. She never leaves our sides.
And two weeks after we brought her home, she alerted me that I was going to have a seizure. She still does this.
PSA: It's okay to be wrong about stuff. We're all learning. The people who value us enough to share what they know should be appreciated, not villianized. I sure appreciate the people who helped educate me.
One of the problems with self hosting (other than the question of archiving I recently posed) is that it leads to alienation. βMine! Mine! Host your own!β When in fact I would love to have small groups of people share. Not many of us, to be sure. Ten or twenty at most. Where everybody can be heard without us paying the cost of #consensus democracy. The price is real, sadly. The German Wikipedia article is better than the English one in explaining, Iβm afraid: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konsensdemokratie

"Never trust a computer you can't throw out a window." - Steve Wozniak
No. He was not talking about Microsoft, he meant those IBM mainframes don't work for you, and you should only trust your personal computer.
And you should absolutely not to trust that piece of water vapor floating in the sky that claims it's doing computation for you...
