Indroduction thread, selfie
I figured I should introduce ourselves, so here we go.
I'm the host of the Opal system, Adrienne, I still don't know whether I'm the first host thanks to some events that happened, but my form is of a shapeshifting vampire (usually shifting between my body's form and my fursona, but sometimes I may involuntarily shapeshift into other things and end up with ghost limbs if it happens while I front). I won't bite, I can promise that.
I'm a subsystem of two median parts.
Dominique is my first headmate to show up, they'd been with me for well over a decade, but only recently decided to show themself to me.
They're our system's only human alter, and their voice is much deeper than mine. They influenced me a year ago to create a moth fursona to represent a "part of myself," but back then, I didn't know what it meant.
Our third member to show up was Abigail. I'd actually met her spirit a long time ago, back in spring 2013, in a dream where we shared a spirit bond in front of her tree. She promised me back then she would come back once I would have found myself, and she did.
She has three forms, one of which is the headspace itself:
The tree: Her true form, a giant old world tree. It serves as her true body and is able to communicate telepathically with us. Likely several thousand years old.
The forest: Her "home," so to speak. She has full control over the contents of the headspace and made us some accommodations to live in.
The fox: Her usual form when interacting with others. Her spirit takes the form of a large (roughly larger than a wolf) silver fox with a white muzzle.
Our fourth member, Eric, showed up pretty recently. He admitted to being the source of what I thought was intrusive thoughts for the past three years, due to him not being able to clearly communicate when trying to warn me about dangerous situations or people. Now that he can clearly communicate, these thoughts stopped entirely.
He got vindicated in December 2020 when my (now ex) partner betrayed my trust and hurt all of us in the process, and Eric stood up for us and called them out.
He's a transmasculine werewolf, much taller in form than the body. As such he gets significant dysphoria from our short transfeminine body.
He seems to enjoy flirting with me, and seems to dislike wearing shirts, unless fronting due to dysphoria.
He's the only one in our system with meat cravings, and the rest of us generally dislike meat. Said craving got especially strong during the full moon.
(also why isn't there a werewolf picrew whyyy)
Our fifth member is Obsidian, a synth fictive.
Obsidian uses it/its pronouns and speaks in third person, only reserving second person for close friends (as it considers "you" to be intimate), which makes it hard for it to connect with others.
It seems to enjoy driving and talking with others, though the confusion it seems to sow in others thanks to third person it/its seems to hurt its feelings.
Its form never wears clothing, being a synth, and it appears to use old tech in places rather than the high-tech equipment synths usually have (for example, its screen uses the same thin film electroluminescent display technology as old laptops from the 80s rather than the 3D display tech typical synths use).
I would estimate its height is about 5'7"
@OpalSystem For clarity- if we speak directly to it, does it want us to refer to it in third person? Eg. "How is it?" vs "how are you?"
Totally alright doing so, just want to be clear on what it's comfortable with.
re: Indroduction thread
@candlebrae It talks using it instead of i, and often will refer to whoever it's speaking with in third person as well.
As far as your question goes, it's fine with being referred to either way.
re: Indroduction thread
@OpalSystem talking in third person is good. :3 (also Firefox just avoids pronouns all together and just uses names, so technically that is a bit different but feels similar? At least to Firefox it feels similar.) :3
