for those curious, the US and Canada have 240V power but we glued a cable in the middle so now we have +120V and -120V instead of normal 240V

this is also why it's trivial to have 240V appliances despite everything being 120V normally

@BoxSystem IDK, if you make the glue 3-phase too, you can get away with half as much of it.
