re: rel (-) & pluralphobia adjacent, some caps
we're thinking, though, it would likely be prudent to try and explain our frustration with her lack of acceptance before discounting her entirely maybe, regardless of the final outcome

rel (-) & pluralphobia adjacent, some caps
We were watching a presentation on coming out as plural, and in the section on partners they said if your partner isn't accepting the news and won't acknowledge your systemmates it's gonna be pretty damaging and it's probably time to find a new partner. WELP.
Plural Cafe now supports receiving posts made with Monsterpit's indirect federation mode.
We haven't yet brought over the code to let folks send out their posts indirectly, but it's on the todo list.
Taking cannabis was what made me realize I'm not totally singlet. The first time I took it I uncovered my most anxious, terrified selves, but I didn't know that was what was happening and I was scared.
Later stoner sessions I realized I could make new associations and focus on my happier, more creative selves, and comfort the scared ones.
I don't know if I'm a multiple or more of a median. I don't have exact distinct alters with names. They seem to be a non-modular overlapping system.
LB Lee's panel @ PWC on the history of plural communities from '89-now is So Important and I was absolutely thrilled with it
So much of this information gets lost, taken out of context, and confused in a big game of telephone, I'm grateful that a system who's been around for A Lot Of It would put together a presentation about it.
quirk [GG], plural, system speak
the example is kinda illuminating for us, cus (as the main head in 90% of our activities) im clearly aware of that kind of feeling happening a lot of the time -- working on something i feel like i SHOULD be wanting to, but feeling like its contradicting what parts of me WANT. i disregard them as "feelings i shouldnt be having right now" and push myself to keep working on whatever it is, but... its pretty obvious now that that probably isnt healthy for any of us!!
so thats something i wanna work on as best i can. if something feels wrong, it *probably feels wrong for a reason*, so: no denying it and shutting the feelings down. doesnt mean the final decision will always be to take a break or stop!! but it DOES mean recognizing that those feelings are real and have reason, and paying attention to work out how to approach our time/activities/etc better by taking all feelings around them into account.
quirk [GG], dogs, birdsite link
our datefriend sent us a link to skydogs and i have had it on loop for hours
(vid description: it's two adorable husky-looking dogs walking around and stretching on top of a glass block in the floor. the video is recorded from under the glass, so you're seeing all this from below, as though the dogs are in the sky)
positive update re: money stuff, request for help again
so, we've just updated our patreon goals becaaaause
the insurance we presently have does not have copays 🎉 which means we don't have to pay $40 a month just on meds!!!
the goals are now reshaped a bit around that. we still appreciate any help we can get - this mostly just means now it goes to food first instead of meds, which... is nice!
we did still just pay $80 on new glasses and also we had to buy our cat litter and yeah
glad to have had the support we've had
oh hey we just got reminded that tomorrow starts Plural Acceptance Week and the #PluralPWC (Plural Positivity World Conference)!
i think this is their 2nd annual, and we weren't there for the first one so we don't know much about it. looks like a lot of neat sessions being aired on youtube, though. schedule is at https://pluralevents.org/Conference/Schedule
re: ableism (not meta)
one of the things about ableism is that disability takes so many different forms that having one of them doesn't make you immune from perpetuating ableism yourself.
you can be a wheelchair user who perpetuates harmful stereotypes about mentally ill ppl. you can be an autistic person who thinks chronically ill ppl are 'just lazy'. you can be a mentally ill person who's gross about physically disabled ppls bodies
like even if we don't have the same institutional power or whatever as a fully abled person all of us still need to be careful about slipping into those thought patterns that capitalism drills into us, I think
